Ten years of recurrent prostatitis: What has really changed
Basic situation
Mr. L, 38 years old, works in a sedentary position. Over the past ten years, he has repeatedly used antibiotics, and each time the medication brought relief for a few weeks, followed by the return of pelvic floor heaviness, urinary frequency, and post-urination dribbling of white urine. The ultrasound revealed uneven echoes in the glandular tissue with no obvious calcification.
evaluate
We did not treat it as another case of inflammation, but instead evaluated the glandular texture, urinary pattern, sleep, digestion, and medication history together. His recurrence pattern is consistent with the manifestations of glandular necrosis and sclerosis, as well as local drainage obstruction.
Plan
The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plan, which is implemented in stages, is reviewed every four weeks. At the same time, he is asked to keep a simple diary, recording the frequency of nocturnal urination, symptom scores, sleep quality, and bowel habits.
follow-up
At the third month, the frequency of nocturia decreased from three times to once, and the pelvic floor heaviness shifted from continuous to intermittent. During the six-month follow-up, there was no recurrence. We recommended continued follow-up and did not describe this case as “cured”.
